Takara Micrococcal Nuclease is an endonuclease that preferentially digests single-stranded DNA and RNA, especially at AT or AU rich regions, but will also digest double-stranded DNA or RNA. This enzyme digests 5-phosphodiester bonds of DNA and RNA, and yields 3-phosphate mononucleotides and oligonucleotides. It is commonly used for preparation of nucleosomes during epigenetic analysis studies.
