Lagosin is a polyene macrolide that has been found in Streptomyces and has antimicrobial activity.,, It is active against C. albicans, as well as the plant pathogenic fungus R. solani (MICs = 10 and 72 µg/mL, respectively)., Lagosin is also active against several strains of T. vaginalis that are sensitive or resistant to the antibiotic metronidazole (Item No. ; EC50s = 1.74-2.62 µg/mL after a one-hour incubation).
