Product Description
Tedizolid is an oxazolidinone antibiotic and active metabolite of the antibiotic tedizolid phosphate (Item No. ). Tedizolid phosphate is converted to tedizolid by phosphatases in vivo. It is active against a wide variety of clinical isolates, including isolates of methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA), E. faecalis, and penicillin-susceptible S. pneumoniae (MICs = 0.5, 0.5, and 0.25 µg/mL, respectively), as well as isolates of anaerobic bacteria (MICs = 0.25-4 µg/mL). Tedizolid protects against mortality in a mouse model of systemic methicillin-susceptible S. aureus (MSSA) infection (ED50 = 8.8 mg/kg).
