General Description

The MRS broth facilitates luxuriant growth ofLactobacillispecies from various sources, such as dairy products, faecal matter, and others. It contains polysorbate, acetate, magnesium, and manganese, which are known to act as special growth factors for Lactobacilli, as well as a rich nutrient base. Sodium acetate and ammonium citrate inhibits the growth ofStreptococci, molds, and many other microorganisms.

MRS broth media is specially designed for the isolation and cultivation ofLactobacillusspecies from a variety of sources, while inhibiting the growth of other competing microorganisms
