Revvity Glial cell-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) is a potent neurotrophic factor that promotes the survival of many types of neurons. GDNF is a disulphide-linked homodimer of two 134-amino acid subunits processed from a 211-amino acid precursor protein. GDNF has been observed to play a role in Parkinsons disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Revvity AlphaLISA technology allows the detection of molecules of interest in a no-wash, highly sensitive, quantitative assay. In an AlphaLISA assay, a biotinylated anti-analyte antibody binds to the Streptavidin-coated Donor beads while another anti-analyte antibody is conjugated to AlphaLISA Acceptor beads. In the presence of the analyte, the beads come into close proximity.
