Revvity C-C Motif Chemokine 4 (CCL4), also known as Macrophage Inflammatory Protein-1beta (MIP-1ß), is a chemokine that signals through the CCR5 receptor. It acts as a chemoattractant for monocytes, natural killer cells, and numerous other immune cells. CCL4 is also an important regulator of macrophage migration. Activated T cells, B cells, and monocytes rapidly synthesize CCL4. After adhering to the laminin found in the basement membrane of blood vessels, neutrophils also synthesize CCL4. It has been noted to have direct antiviral effect against HSV-1 and is one of the main HIV-suppressive factors made by CD8+ T cells. Revvity AlphaLISA technology allows the detection of molecules of interest in a no-wash, highly sensitive, quantitative assay. In an AlphaLISA assay, a biotinylated anti-analyte antibody binds to the Streptavidin-coated Donor beads while another anti-analyte antibody is conjugated to AlphaLISA Acceptor beads. In the presence of the analyte, the beads come into close proximity.
