Cell Line Description
A trypsinised variant of LS180 (Sigma Catalogue number. 87021202), both lines being derived from a 58 year old female with Dukes type B adenocarcinoma of the colon. The cells have microvilli and intracytoplasmic vacuoles. The cells are tumorigenic in nude mice.
Application
LS174T is part of the three-dimensional (3D) heterotypic spheroid model developed to assess cancer immunotherapy agents in vitro.[1] It has been used to study the interaction of enterohaemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC) with the intestinal mucus layer produced by LS174T cells.[2]
