Our sulfonated polysulfone proton conducting polymer features a high degree of sulfonation at 90%. This distinctive characteristic imparts higher water uptake, ionic conductivity, and ion exchange capacity compared to polymers with lower degrees of sulfonation. However, the trade-off for these enhanced properties is that membranes made from this polymer exhibit weakened mechanical properties, such as lower breaking strength and a greater swelling ratio. This product is designed for applications where superior ionic performance is prioritized over mechanical robustness.
Application
Our sulfonated polysulfone proton conducting polymer with a high degree of sulfonation at 90% is an excellent choice for applications that prioritize superior ionic conductivity and water uptake. This product is particularly well-suited for use in proton exchange membranes (PEMs) for fuel cells, redox flow batteries, and other energy storage systems where efficient proton transport and high ion exchange capacity are crucial.
