Biochem/physiol Actions
Fluoxetine HCl (hydrochloride) is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor and functions as an antidepressant.[1] This drug works at presynaptic terminals where it prevents the reuptake of serotonin, resulting in the accumulation of serotonin in extracellular fluid at synapses.[2]
