Ammonium-15N chloride has been used:

as a medium supplement for the incorporation of 15N in sporulation protein, CsfB, for NMR spectroscopy[1]
in assaying nitrogen loss in marine sediment[2]

Biochem/physiol Actions

Ammonium chloride is a component of the nitrogen cycle.[4] Excess of ammonium chloride depletes ATP in astrocytes.[5] Ammonium chloride inhibits the acidification in endosome-lysosome system.[6] It is a hemolysing agent used in the lysis of erythrocytes.[7] Ammonium chloride administration promotes creatinine and urea clearance in rat.[8]
