Product Description
Nectin-4 is a single-pass type I membrane glycoprotein and member of the nectin family of adhesion molecules.1 It is composed of three extracellular immunoglobulin-like domains, a transmembrane domain, and a cytoplasmic tail containing an afadin-binding motif. Nectin-4 is expressed in the placenta and embryo but is expressed only at low levels in adults.2 It interacts strongly with nectin-1 and weakly with other nectin-4 proteins to mediate cell-cell adhesion.3 Nectin-4 is overexpressed in a variety of cancers, including lung, breast, and urothelial cancers, and its expression is associated with cancer progression and metastasis.1,2 It also acts as an epithelial receptor for measles viral entry.4 Mutations in NECTIN4 are associated with ectodermal dysplasia-syndactyly syndrome 1 (EDSS1), a disease characterized by hair and teeth abnormalities and cutaneous syndactyly of the hands and/or feet.5 Cayman’s Nectin-4 Polyclonal Antibody can be used for ELISA.
