General description
Romifidine is an α2-adrenergic receptor (α2-adrenoceptor) agonist with invivo sedative and analgesic efficacy. Romifidine depresses excitatorypostsynaptic potential in a neonatal rat hemisected spinal cord preparation exvivo (high/low intensity e.p.s.p. EC50 = 23.4/22.0 µM), reversible bythe selective α2-adrenoceptor antagonist atipamezole.
Application
Romifidinehydrochloride may be used to study its effects on sedation and pain managementin animal models.
