Neuroligin-2 (UniProt: Q8NFZ4) is encoded by the NLGN2 (also known as KIAA1366) gene (Gene ID: 57555) in human. Neuroligin-2 is a single pass type I membrane protein, a postsynaptic cell adhesion molecule that is part of the neuroligin family. It is characterized by a large extracellular domain (aa 15-677), a single transmembrane region (aa 678-698), and a small intracellular tail (aa 699-835). The extracellular domain is responsible for binding to neurexins, their presynaptic ligands, forming intercellular junctions. Neuroligin-2 acts at GABAergic inhibitory synapses, which plays key roles in governing the behavioral output of the brain. Altered function or expression of Neuroligin-2 is linked to various neurological disorders. Mutations or dysregulation can contribute to conditions such as autism spectrum disorders, schizophrenia, and other neurodevelopmental disorders. Quality Control Testing

Evaluated by Western Blotting in U-2 OS cell lysate.

Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:10,000 dilution of this antibody detected Neuroligin-2 in U-2 OS cell lysate.

Tested Applications

Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:10,000 dilution from a representative lot detected Neuroligin-2 in lysate from mouse brain tissue.

Affinity Binding Assay: A representative lot of this antibody bound with Neuroligin-2 peptide with at least ten thousand-fold (10,000X) higher affinity than with non-specific control peptide.

Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin) Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution from a representative lot detected Neuroligin-2 in human cerebellum tissue sections.

Clone 2H2 is a ZooMAb^® rabbit recombinant monoclonal antibody that detects Neuroligin-2. It targets an epitope within 25 amino acids from the N-terminal half.

Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS with 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. The PBS/trehalose components in the ZooMAb formulation can have the appearance of a semi-solid (bead like gel) after lyophilization. This is a normal phenomenon. Please follow the recommended reconstitution procedure in the data sheet to dissolve the semi-solid, bead-like, gel-appearing material. The resulting antibody solution is completely stable and functional as proven by full functional testing. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 µL.

Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 µL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.
