| Storage | Supplied in 10 mm sodium HEPES (pH 7.5), 150 mm NaCl, 100 µg/mL BSA, 50% glycerol, and less than 0.02% sodium azide. Store at –20°C. Do not aliquot the antibody. |
| Specificity/Sensitivity | RBM4 recognizes endogenous levels of total RBM4 protein. This antibody does not cross-react with RBM4B protein. |
| Species Reactivity | Human, Monkey |
| Source/Purification | Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Pro317 of human RBM4 protein. |
| Background | RBM4 functions as an RNA-binding protein and precursor mRNA splicing factor that antagonizes activity of PTBP1-mediated splicing (1-4). Upon phosphorylation at Ser309, RBM4 accumulates in stress granules and suppresses cap-dependent translation through eIF4A (3). Exon skipping of MEF2C by RBM4 has been shown to play a key role in the differentiation of brown adipocytes (5). The splicing activities of RBM4 seem to suppress tumorigenesis in the context of multiple cancer types (5-8). |
