Topramezone is a post-emergence herbicide for broad-leaved weeds and grasses used mainly on corn. It is highly soluble in water, non-volatile but, based on its chemical properties, has a high risk of leaching to groundwater. As per regulation (EC) No 1107/2009 topramezone is not approved for use as a plant protection product in the European Union (EU). Maximum residue levels (MRLs) have been set for various products of plant and animal origin according to Reg. (EC) No 839/2008 in the range of 0.01 - 0.05 mg/kg. The certified reference material (CRM) is intended to be used as a calibrant for chromatography and other analytical techniques.
