Phenoxodiol, an isoflavene, is a broad-spectrum anti-tumor agent that causes apoptosis via both intrinsic and extrinsic pathways. It acts as a potent sensitizer of most standard chemotoxic agents. Phenoxodiol inhibits tumor-specific NADH oxidase tNOX (ENOX2). It blocks phosphorylation and activation of several different pro-survival signaling proteins including sphingosine kinase and Akt.
