C-Met, also known as tyrosine-protein kinase Met or hepatocyte growth factor receptor (HGFR) is encoded by a proto-oncogene and is created as a single-chain precursor before being converted to its mature form. The hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) can activate c-Met, a receptor tyrosine kinase that upon HGF binding undergoes dimerization and autophosphorylation (Y1234 and Y1235 residues) stimulating several downstream signaling pathways involved in cell proliferation, angiogenesis, and tumor growth. In cancer cells, abnormal MET downstream signaling is closely related to overexpression and amplification. c-Met is overexpressed in up to 80% of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and 25-75% of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

The AlphaLISA SureFire Human Total c-Met Detection Kit is a sandwich immunoassay for the quantitative detection of total c-Met in cellular lysates, using Alpha Technology.

• The HV (high volume) kit contains reagents to run 100 wells in 96-well format, using a 60 μL reaction volume.
• The 500-point kit contains enough reagents to run 500 wells in 384-well format, using a 20 μL reaction volume.
