Autophagy Related 16 Like 1 (ATG16L1) is a protein that is essential for autophagy. ATG16L1 forms the ATG16-Complex 1 with ATG5 and ATG12 which plays a role in LC3 lipidation and mediates autophagosome formation. ATG16L1 is also implicated in autophagy-independent functions, such as intracellular membrane trafficking regulation and inflammation. This protein is involved in conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, colorectal cancer, heart disease, breast cancer, and chronic myeloid leukemia.

The AlphaLISA SureFire Ultra Human and Mouse Phospho-ATG16L1 (Ser278) assay is a sandwich immunoassay for the quantitative detection of phospho-ATG16L1 (Ser278) in cellular lysates, using Alpha Technology.
