Electron Microscopy Sciences Can be used with the vitrobot or as part of your custom cryo-em system. The foam vitrification dewar with metal parts is compatible with the vitrobot, but can also provide a robust and easy option for your own custom cryo-em sample preparation system. All parts are interchangeable with fei parts, i.e. The foam dewar works with fei metal parts and the metal parts work with the fei foam dewar. The foam dewar is an economical, robust option for cryo-em sample preparation. The design provides an improved interface. The grid box ring sits at the same height as the vitrobot version (so grid boxes sit at same depth in the dewar) but is slightly thicker and remains in contact with liquid nitrogen longer if the nitrogen level gets low. The ethane cup dimensions mimic those of the vitrobot ethane cup, and the spider as well. These parts offer an economical alternative to the vitrobot, while performing just as well. - EMS
