Takara NucleoSpin Gel and PCR Clean-up XS, 50 Preps

The NucleoSpin Gel & PCR Clean-up XS kit includes spin columns, collection tubes, and buffers for purification of DNA from PCR reactions or agarose gels. The kit enables recovery of DNA fragments ranging in size from 50 bp–20 kbp, and can be used to process up to 200 µl of PCR reaction mixture or 200 mg of agarose gel in one prep. The binding capacity of the XS spin column is 5 µg, and typical elution volumes range from 6–12 µl. The kit employs a user-friendly workflow that enables processing of 6 samples in ~15 minutes.

Superior recovery over a range of fragment sizes.DNA fragments of varying size were extracted from an agarose gel using NucleoSpin Gel and PCR Clean-up XS (MN) and a competitor kit (Q). As shown, NucleoSpin Gel and PCR Clean-up XS enabled superior recovery of fragments ranging from 50–1,000 bp while also allowing for removal of 24-bp primer dimers that were retained by the competitor kit.

Superior recovery at small elution volumes.DNA fragments were extracted from an agarose gel using NucleoSpin Gel and PCR Clean-up XS (MN) and two competitor kits (Q and Z) and purified DNA was eluted at volumes of 6 μl and 12 μl with each kit. As shown, recovery rates for NucleoSpin Gel and PCR Clean-up XS were comparable or superior to results obtained with the competitor products.
