Composition of HyClone™ Cell Boost™ 7b cell culture media supplement
Cell Boost™ 7b CHO supplement has an alkaline pH and is a concentrated solution of amino acids. Like Cell Boost™ 7a, this media supplement does not contain any growth factors (such as insulin), peptides, hydrolysates, phenol red, or 2-mercaptoethanol ensuring batch-to-batch consistency and increased cell culture process efficiency.
Applications data for CHO bioreactor cultures using HyClone™ Cell Boost™ supplements
A recent study compared cell growth and recombinant protein production of multiple Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cell clones when cultured in HyClone™ ActiPro basal medium and Cell Boost™ 7a and 7b media supplements. Results from shake flask cultures showed high viable cell densities and protein production. In addition, scalability of the culture process was demonstrated in 2 and 50 L bioreactor cultures. Cell density and protein production were shown to be comparable between scales. Protein yields reached as high as 5 g/L in shake flasks, and as high as 5.5 g/L in bioreactor cultures.
