| Description | Anti-Post Synaptic Density Protein 95 Antibody, clone 6G6-1C9 |
| Alternate Names |
|
| Background Information | PSD-95 is part of a multiprotein complex restricted to the post-synaptic membrane. It is believed to initiate NMDA receptor clustering on the post synaptic membrane. Its restricted expression makes it an excellent marker for post-synaptic membrane regions on neurons. |

| Application Notes | Immunocytochemistry: Representative image from a previous lot. Confocal fluorescent analysis of PC12 using MAb1596 Mouse mAB (Red). Actin filaments have been labeled with Alexa Fluor 488 -Phalloidin (Green). Nuclear is stained with DAPI (Blue). Membrane staining positive. Immunocytochemistry: 12.5 µg/mL Western Blot: 1-5 μg/mL (ECL) on rat brain lysate (20 μg). Optimal working dilutions must be determined by the end user. |

| Entrez Gene Number |
|
| Entrez Gene Summary | This gene encodes a member of the membrane-associated guanylate kinase (MAGUK) family. It heteromultimerizes with another MAGUK protein, DLG2, and is recruited into NMDA receptor and potassium channel clusters. These two MAGUK proteins may interact at postsynaptic sites to form a multimeric scaffold for the clustering of receptors, ion channels, and associated signaling proteins. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq] |

| Storage and Shipping Information | |
|---|---|
| Storage Conditions | Stable for 6 months at -20°C in undiluted aliquots from date of receipt. Do not store below -20°C. Handling Recommendations: Upon first thaw, and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance. Note: Variabillity in freezer temperatures below -20°C may cause glycerol containing solutions to become frozen during storage. |
