Revvity The LANCE Ultra Human IFN-2 Detection Kit is designed for detection and quantitation of human interferon 2 in buffered solution and cell culture media using a homogeneous TR-FRET (no-wash steps, no separation steps) assay. One antibody of interest is labeled with a donor fluorophore (a LANCE Europium chelate) and the second molecule is labeled with an acceptor fluorophore (ULight dye). Upon excitation at 320 or 340 nm, energy can be transferred from the donor Europium chelate to the acceptor fluorophore if sufficiently close for FRET (10 nm). This results in the emission of light at 665 nm. Interferon-2 (IFN-2), also know an IL28A is a cytokine encoded by the IL28 gene and is closely related to IL28B (IFN-3) and IL29(IFN-1). IFN-2 and IFN-3 are 96% homologous and their functional differences are still unknown. IFN-2 plays a critical role in adaptive immune responses and regulates CD8+ T cell functions during vaccination. Clinically, it is involved in the protection from H1N1 viral infection and it can be used for predicting response to hepatitis C treatment with interferon and ribavirin. - PEMSD
