IntendedUse GenScriptProtein A MagBeads are ideal for small-scale antibody purification.
Principle The samplecontaining antibody is added to the Protein A MagBeads. The antibody will bindto beads during a short incubation. Then the beads-bound antibody can be elutedoff from the beads using a magneticseparation rack. Magnetic separation eliminates the changes of micro tubes, minimizes the loss of sample and removes excessive steps of traditionalcentrifugation method.
MaterialSupplied GenScriptProtein A MagBeads are super paramagneticbeads of average 45±5 μm in diameter, covalently coated with recombinant Protein A. Thebeads are supplied as 25% slurry in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.4,containing 20% ethanol. The Protein A MagBeads have a bindingcapacity of morethan 10 mg Human IgG per 1 ml settled beads (e.g. 4 ml 25%slurry). Protein A,a bacterial cell wall protein isolated from Staphylococcusaureus, binds to mammalian IgGs,mainly through Fc regions. Native Protein A has five IgG binding domains andmany unknown-function repeated sequences. Recombinant Protein A only contains five high-affinity IgG binding domains to reducenonspecific binding.
Storage and Stability Thisproduct is stable until the expiration date stated on the COA, when stored unopened at 2–8°C. Do NOT freeze the product. Keep the MagBeads in liquidsuspension during storage and all handling steps. Drying will cause loss ofbinding capacity and result in reduced performance. Resuspend the beads wellbefore use. Be careful to avoid bacterial/fungal contamination.
