Millipore Plasticity Related Gene 3 Is An Antibody Targeting The Plasticity Related Gene 3 Protein, Validated For Use In Wb. - Mill (Additional S&H or Hazmat Fees May Apply)
Plasticity Related Gene 3 is an antibody targeting the Plasticity Related Gene 3 protein, validated for use in WB.
Key Applications
Western Blotting
Biological Information
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from human/rat/mouse PRG-3.
Host
Rabbit
Specificity
Plasticity related gene 3 (PRG-3). By Western blot the antibody recognizes a band at ~35 kDa in mouse brain lysate. An additional band at ~77 kDa may be seen depending on sample and antibody concentration used.
Species Reactivity
Mouse
Species Reactivity Note
The antibody is expected to work on rat and human since the immunogen sequence is identical.
Antibody Type
Polyclonal Antibody

Entrez Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the plasticity-related gene (PRG) family. Members of the PRG family mediate lipid phosphate phosphatase activity in neurons and are known to be involved in neuronal plasticity. The protein encoded by this gene does not perform its function through enzymatic phospholipid degradation. This gene is strongly expressed in brain. It shows dynamic expression regulation during brain development and neuronal excitation. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been observed.
