| Immunogen | Rabbit anti-DEDAF polyclonal antibody was raised against a synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 215 to 228 of human-DEDAF. This sequence is identical to the mouse sequence. |
| Host | Rabbit |
| Specificity | Apoptosis is related to many diseases and induced by a family of cell death receptors and their ligands. Cell death signals are transduced by death domain (DD), death effector domain (DED), and caspase recruitment domain (CARD) containing molecules. DEDAF (DED Associated Factor) is expressed in multiple tissues and cell lines. DEDAF is identical to the transcriptional repressor RYBP. DEDAF interacts with FADD and augments the formation of CD95/FADD/Caspase-8 complexes at the cell membrane. DEDAF also interacts with DEDD (DED-containing DNA binding) protein in the nucleus, which indicates its involvement in the regulation of both cytoplasmic and nuclear events of apoptosis. |

| UniProt Summary | FUNCTION: SwissProt: Q8N488 # May be implicated in the regulation of the transcription as a repressor of the transcriptional activity of E4TF1. In tumor cell lines, may induce apoptosis. SIZE: 228 amino acids; 24822 Da SUBUNIT: Interacts with CBX2, YAF2, RING1 and RNF2 (By similarity). Interacts with apoptin, DEDD, FADD, CASP8, CASP10, YY1 and E4TF1B. Together with E4TF1B and YY1, it forms a ternary complex, probably being the bridge factor between these two transcription factors. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Nucleus. Cytoplasm. Note=Primarily found in the nucleus. TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Widely expressed with highest levels in lymphoid tissues and placenta. SIMILARITY: SwissProt: Q8N488 ## Contains 1 RanBP2-type zinc finger. |
