| Description | Anti-Omentin Antibody |
| Background Information | A calcium-dependent lectin with affinity for furanosides, such as galactofuranosyl in bacterial arabinogalactans. 30kD of apparent molecular weight of Omentin migrate at 40-kD under reducing conditions due to glycosylation. Omentin, a novel visceral fat depot-specific secretory protein, enhance insulin-stimulated glucose transport in subcutaneous as well as omental adipocytes and may therefore be implicated in the pathogenesis of obesity. |
