|---|---|
| Immunogen | 20 amino acid peptide sequence within the cytoplasmic, C-terminus of mouse Flt-4 |
| Concentration | Please refer to the Certificate of Analysis for the lot-specific concentration. |
| Host | Rabbit |
| Specificity | Recognizes mouse Flt-4 (mouse 1363-aa and human 1298-aa) a receptor protein tyrosine kinase. It is type 1 membrane protein, a receptor for VEGF-C and is expressed in adult lung, and liver, and in fetal liver, brain, intestine, and placenta. Flt-4 is also known as vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 3 (VEGFR3). SPECIES REACTIVITIES: The peptide sequence used is relatively conserved in rat (85%) and human (73%) Flt-4/VEGFR3. No significant sequence homology is seen with VEGFR1, VEGFR2, or other tyrosine kinases. Antibody crossreactivity in other species is not established. |

| UniProt Summary | FUNCTION: SwissProt: P35916 # Receptor for VEGFC. Has a tyrosine-protein kinase activity. SIZE: 1298 amino acids; 145599 Da SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Placenta, lung, heart, and kidney, does not seem to be expressed in pancreas and brain. DISEASE: SwissProt: P35916 # Defects in FLT4 are the cause of hereditary lymphedema I [MIM:153100]; also known as Nonne-Milroy lymphedema or Milroy disease. Hereditary lymphedema is a chronic disabling condition which results in swelling of the extremities due to altered lymphatic flow. Patients with lymphedema suffer from recurrent local infections and physical impairment. Hereditary lymphedema I shows autosomal dominant inheritance and is characterized by onset usually at birth. & Defects in FLT4 are found in juvenile hemangioma. Juvenile hemangiomas are the most common tumors of infancy, occurring as many as 10/% of all births. These benign vascular lesions enlarge rapidly during the first year of life by hyperplasia of endothelial cells and attendant pericytes, and then spontaneously involute over a period of years, leaving loose fibrofatty tissue. SIMILARITY: SwissProt: P35916 ## Belongs to the protein kinase superfamily. Tyr protein kinase family. CSF-1/PDGF receptor subfamily. & Contains 7 Ig-like C2-type (immunoglobulin-like) domains. & Contains 1 protein kinase domain. |
