Hormonally up-regulated neu tumor-associated kinase
B19
Serine/threonine-protein kinase MAK-V
Background Information
Hormonally up-regulated neu tumor-associated kinase (HUNK) belongs to the protein kinase superfamily and is an SNF1-related serine/threonine kinase that has a unique COOH-terminal (C-terminal) part without homology to any known protein. This protein is highly expressed in the mammary gland, kidney, and central nervous system.

UniProt Summary
CATALYTIC ACTIVITY: ATP + a protein = ADP + a phosphoprotein.
SEQUENCE SIMILARITIES: Belongs to the protein kinase superfamily. CAMK Ser/Thr protein kinase family. SNF1 subfamily.
Contains 1 protein kinase domain.
Molecular Weight
~70 kDa observed. The calculated molecular weight is 80 kDa, however HUNK has been shown as a ~70 kDa band in western blots. (Gardner, H.P., et al. (2000). Development. 127:4493-4509.)
Product Usage Statements
Quality Assurance
Evaluated by Western Blot in SK-BR3 cell lysate.
Western Blot Analysis: 0.5 µg/mL of this antibody detected HUNK on 10 µg of SK-BR3 cell lysate.
