Miltenyi Biotec Clone REA1238 reacts with the CD48 mouse antigen, which is a 45 kDa GPI-linked glycoprotein also known as BCM1, blast-1 (human), or OX-45 (rat). CD48 belongs to the SLAM family including CD48, CD244, and CD150. These cell surface receptors were differentially expressed among functionally progenitors. Hematopoietic stem cells are highly purified as CD150–CD48–CD244– cells, multipotent hematopoietic progenitors are CD244+CD150–CD48– and most restricted progenitor cells are CD48+CD244+CD150–.
