Miltenyi Biotec Clone REAL818 is an antibody fragment derived from the full TIM-3 antibody molecule. It displays no binding to Fc receptors. The recombinantly engineered antibody fragments are multimerized to form the REAdye_lease Complex to bind markers with high avidity. | Clone REAL818 recognizes the TIM-3 antigen, a Single-pass type I membrane protein which is also known as CD366, T cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain containing protein-3 (TIM-3) or Hepatitis A virus cellular receptor 2 (HAVcr-2). TIM-3 is expressed on activated T cells, especially Tʜ1 cells, monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. It is an activation-induced inhibitory molecule involved in tolerance and shown to induce T-cell exhaustion in chronic viral infection and cancers. CD366 has been proposed to inhibit Tʜ1-mediated immune responses and regulates Tʜ1 and Tʜ17 cytokine secretion.
