Miltenyi Biotec Clone REA156 recognizes the PKCa antigen regardless of its phosphorylation status. It has been reported to cross-react with PKCB. PKCa is a serine- and threonine-specific protein kinase that can be activated by calcium and the second messenger diacylglycerol. It plays a role in many different cellular processes, such as cell adhesion, cell transformation, cell cycle checkpoint, and cell volume control. PKCa is highly expressed in a number of cancer cells where it can acts as a tumor promoter and it is implicated in malignant phenotypes of several tumors such as gliomas and breast cancers.
