Description:
Turbo3C (HRV 3C) Protease (known as human rhinovirus 3C protease) is a recombinant cysteine protease. It cleaves between Gln and Gly in Leu-Glu-Val-Leu-Phe-Gln-Gly-Pro, commonly referred to as the PreScission Site. HRV 3C Protease is a 47 kDa protein with robust activity at 4°C. It also has both GST and His tags, which can be removed by either Ni-chelating or Glutathione (GSH) resin.
Applications:
- Used as a therapeutic implication because of its unique protein structure
- Used to achieve high cleavage efficiency without non-specific cleavage of target proteins
- Used for the biochemical and structural characterization conducted on HRV 3C protease along with the development of 3C protease inhibitors
