| Alternate Names |

| Background Information | Plexin-A3 is a cell surface receptor for semaphorin that controls signaling for neuronal axon regulation. Plexin-A3 is thought to play a role in Sema3F and Sema3A signaling, has been described as essential for dorsal turning of the corticospinal tract axons and may be an important contributor to development of hippocampal axonal projections. Plexin-A3 has been found expressed in newly-differentiated sympathetic neurons, but not their neural crest precursors, and together with Plexin-A4, functions cooperatively to regulate the migration of sympathetic neurons and then differentially to guide the sympathetic axons. |
