Miltenyi Biotec Clone REA277 recognizes the CD196 antigen, a g protein–linked chemokine receptor also known as C-C chemokine receptor type 6 (CCR6). CD196 is preferentially expressed by B cells, immature dendritic cells, and subsets of T cells. The ligand of CD196 is macrophage inflammatory protein 3 alpha (MIP-3α) and binding subsequently transduces a signal by increasing the intracellular calcium ions level. CD196 has been shown to be important for B-lineage maturation and antigen-driven B cell differentiation, and it may regulate the migration and recruitment of dendritic and T cells during inflammatory and immunological responses.
