Miltenyi Biotec Clone REA122 recognizes CD193, also known as CCR3 . CD193 is a seven transmembrane, β chemokine receptor belonging to the family of g protein-coupled receptors. Though CD193 is known primarily for its expression on eosinophils, its abundant expression is also found on mast cells, basophils, platelets and mononuclear phagocytes. CD193 binds to chemokines such as eotaxin-1, -2, -3, monocyte chemotactic proteins-2, -3, -4, RANTES and MIP-1α. An increased expression of these chemokines stimulate cells bearing CCR3 and promote their migration and recruitment at the site of inflammation, such as airway and conjuctiva.
