Miltenyi Biotec Clone REA575 recognizes the mouse and rat nestin antigen, a type VI intermediate filament protein, mainly expressed in the developing central nervous system and skeletal muscles. In adult eye, nestin is present in the optic nerve but also transiently expressed in the midembryonic mouse heart. Nestin plays a role in regulation of the assembly and disassembly of phosphorylated vimentin intermediate filaments during mitosis.
