Miltenyi Biotec Clone REAL1239 is an antibody fragment derived from the full PGP9.5 (UCH-L1) antibody molecule. It displays no binding to Fc receptors. The recombinantly engineered antibody fragments are multimerized to form the REAdye_lease Complex to bind markers with high avidity. | Clone REAL1239 recognizes the thiol protease PGP9.5 (UCH-L1), also known as neuron cytoplasmic protein gene product 9.5 and ubiquitin-C-terminal hydrolase 1 protein, that recognizes and hydrolyzes a peptide bond at the C-terminal glycine of ubiquitin, and plays a role in the processing of ubiquitin precursors and ubiquinated proteins. PGP9.5 (UCH-L1) is present in neurons and is a specific marker of the diffuse neuroendocrine system and their tumors. Furthermore, expression of PGP9.5 (UCH-L1) in myeloma cells was found.
