Miltenyi Biotec Clone REA949 recognizes the human CD142 antigen, a 45 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein also known as tissue factor (TF). It functions as the high-affinity receptor for the coagulation factor VII and enables cells to initiate the blood coagulation cascades. It is reported, that the tissue factor exists in a membrane-bound and in a soluble form. It is expressed on activated endothelial cells and on monocytes, macrophages, and platelets, which are stimulated with inflammatory mediators such as LPS or tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFα).
