Takara Faustovirus Capping Enzyme (S17), 500 U

Faustovirus Capping Enzyme (S17) adds 7-methylguanylate cap structures (Cap-0) to the 5’ ends of uncapped RNA. Faustovirus Capping Enzyme (25 U/µl), 10X Capping Buffer 2, S-adenosylmethionine (SAM), and GTP are included.

Effect of temperature on capping efficiency of FCE and VCE.Capping reactions were performed using Faustovirus Capping Enzyme S17 (FCE; Cat. # 2480) or Vaccinia Capping Enzyme (VCE; Cat. # 2460) at various reaction temperatures. The capping efficiency (% Cap-0 RNA) was measured by LC-MS. FCE demonstrated increased capping efficiency over a broader temperature range than VCE.
