Human Midkine (MK) is a new member of the heparin-binding neurotrophic factor family. MK and PTN (Pleiotrophin) are structural homologs, and are highly conserved among species. MK plays important roles in development and carcinogensis and has several important biological effects, including promotion of neurite extension and neuronal survival. Recombinant Midkine is a 13.4 kDa protein, comprising of 123 amino acid residues.

Storage and Shipping Information
Storage Conditions
The lyophilized powder, though stable at room temperature, is best stored desiccated below 0°C. After a quick spin, reconstitute with sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. This solution can be diluted into water or other buffered solutions. Reconstitute MK should be stored in undiluted aliquots at -20°C for up to 6 months.
